A few days ago, Brother Li, who had returned from working elsewhere, hurried over and said to me that he happened to come across someone who preached to him that the Lord Jesus had already returned, and that the Lord was speaking new words and performing new work beyond those that are recorded in the Bible. One after another, they came to the hospital to see me and even discussed funeral arrangements with my children. However, I wasn’t nervous or suffering; I felt very much at peace. When I was about to go in for surgery I saw how worried and afraid my children were for me, so I tried to advise and comfort them. “Don’t worry about me. My name is Liu Wen, and I’m 80 years old this year; I accepted Almighty God’s work of the last days in 2006. Because of my age, I couldn’t go out and perform my duty like the other brothers and sisters, so the church leaders arranged for me to host gatherings. I was very happy to have a duty I could perform, and from then on I warmly welcomed brothers and sisters into my home; no matter when the gatherings were held, I never complained at all. So, I thought that I was devoted to God and that my actions were certainly acceptable to Him. The Lord Jesus said, “A new commandment I give to you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall all men know that you are My disciples, if you have love one to another” (John 13:34–35). “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God” (Matthew 5:9). The Lord Jesus requires of us that we get along well with others and that we love one another. But because we each have a different family background, different life habits, different personalities, ages and life experiences, it thus becomes unavoidable that prejudices and misunderstandings will arise in our dealings with our brothers and sisters, so much so that conflict and friction can occur between us.
