
Since the Lord Jesus did the work of redemption, does that mean God’s work to save mankind is finished?
Many people believe that when the Lord Jesus said “It is finished” when He was on the cross, that meant God’s work to save mankind had been completed. But is that really the case? The truth is, the Lord Jesus did the work of redemption, which only involved forgiving people of their sins. He didn’t get rid of their sinful nature or satanic dispositions. Bound by their sinfulness, people still can’t help but commit sin and resist God. We all live in a state of sinning and confessing, totally unable to escape the bonds of sin. To save mankind from sin once and for all, God needs to do another stage of work in the last days, a work that is newer and higher than that which has come before.
